La Campana Hotel Boutique

The staff were nice, and the laundry service was good at 18k per kilo. We stayed three nights, within walking distance of the busy Poblado area and its many bars and restaurants. The rooms were a little small and pretty noisy, with street sounds and the doorbell coming through. Our bedsheets weren't fully clean, but they changed them when we asked.

When I arrived around 10 pm, the reception desk was empty, even though reception is supposed to be open 24 hours. I rang the bell five times and got no response. After I knocked, the receptionist threatened to call the police if I knocked again instead of welcoming or helping me. Around 11 pm, that same staff member came to my room demanding that I sign paperwork in Spanish. I said I couldn't understand it, but he insisted I either sign or leave immediately. I've travelled to 37 countries, and this was by far my worst hotel or hostel experience. I strongly advise against staying here. Avoid it at all costs.

The neighborhood has loads of restaurants and bars, while the street itself stays very quiet. Getting to public transport takes a bit, though walking to the metro is doable. Breakfast was quite good, with three or four choices, and it was nice to have hot water in the shower. Pretty decent!

The front desk staff were amazing, 20 out of 10. Breakfast was really good too, with five menu options, and starts at 6:30 if you need to head out on a tour. Rooms don't have everything, but they do try: mine was missing a hairdryer, so they looked for a spare in another room, and an iron wasn't available. Some rooms face the back street and can be noisy early in the morning. If you're older or have mobility problems, keep in mind you'll need an Uber to get back, even from one block away, because it's uphill. It's worth it, and Uber is extremely cheap. Aside from that, everything was great, and I'd definitely stay again.
