GHL Hotel Portón Medellín

We had a great room in a great location, and the food was excellent. The service was top notch.

Louisa at the front desk was amazing. Always smiling, she went out of her way to help with our requests and made our stay at the GHL FANTASTIC. Thank you, Louisa. Your extra effort made our trip special and didn't go unnoticed. The location is handy, with restaurants and a mall nearby, and the food was good. The amenities were decent, though the room and gym could have been cleaner. Room service was the main problem: it was very slow, and the food often arrived cold.

I came in late on New Year's Eve and felt welcome right away. I'd planned on two nights, but stayed for four. The rooms are good quality, with a very comfortable brand new bed, and the service was excellent. The free buffet breakfast was delicious. There's also a spa with two jacuzzis, a steam room, massage rooms, and a gym. The staff were kind and beautiful.

The shower pressure was disappointingly weak, which made it less comfortable to use. Apart from that, we had a great stay at GHL Hotel Portón Medellín, and would recommend it for its comfort, service, and location. We got there around noon, a couple of hours before check-in, and the front desk kindly let us in early. Room 301 was low down with an obstructed view, so we asked to switch and were upgraded to room 801. The view there really improved the stay. Luis the bellman was warm and helpful with both our bags and the room change. Breakfast had a wide choice, and the staff were attentive. In Poblado, the hotel is ideally placed, with Santafé Mall about a 5-minute walk away and plenty of places to eat.
