The location is great, which made the constant noise a little easier to put up with. The walls are thin, so late-night talking and couples having sex carry through. I wouldn't suggest this hostel unless you're here to party. I also found a small bug on my sheet that looked worryingly like a bed bug after I checked online. Breakfast was confusing too. I came from the stairway, but the woman at reception said it was only for hostel guests and she couldn't serve me. Maybe I misunderstood, since everyone else was already sitting and eating. For what it costs, I expected better. I hope they raise their standards.

The front desk staff were all really nice, including Stefany, who helped me check in. Still, after that cold shower I decided to leave and find a nicer hotel a bit farther from llares park. There was barely any water coming from the shower, and it took forever. No hot water at all.

For about 6 years now, I've been coming back to hotel Veler. It's a great spot in the right part of “La Provenza”.

They've hired a new cook, so breakfast and lunch are now available, and the owner did a good job getting the resturant open. Prices have gone up alot, and it's no longer a girl friendly hotel. The place is clean, with good air conditioning, fast internet, cable TV, Netflix, and plenty of hot water. The location is great and the price is reasonable.

On December 6th, 2024, I traveled to Medellin and the hotel canceled my reservation at the last minute. I had to book a much more expensive hotel 45 minutes from Medellin, which also meant spending a lot on Uber. That left my stay much more expensive than planned. If I could, I'd give zero stars. Stay away if you don't want to be left without a place at the last minute.
