Hotel Zona A

Friendly staff, good customer service, and a good location. The included breakfast was decent, as was the room price. But there was no soundproofing. On my first night in room 105, I could hear every car, pedestrian, and bird outside, and barely slept. They moved us to a room at the back the next night, which was a big improvement, though we could still hear everything happening in and around the room. The beds were also pretty uncomfortable.

Such a warm welcome to Medellin, especially for a first visit to Colombia. The staff were thoughtful, friendly, and helpful, and the breakfast service was wonderful. It's very clean and feels safe. The location is quiet and warm, near the most beautiful clubs, and it's incredibly inexpensive. Hard to believe all that comes together. I'd call this a first class Boutique Hotel and highly recommend it.

What stood out most was the friendly staff. They make you feel at home and are happy to help with questions. The hotel is small, modern, and cozy. Rooms aren't big, but they're clean and have what you need. I also liked the private, quiet location, still within walking distance of the best restaurants and Parque Lleras, where all the action is. I'd certainly recommend it.

Bring earplugs. This is one of the loudest hotels I've ever stayed in. The doors are comically thin, quite literally, and you can hear detailed conversations in the rooms directly across from you. There was also intense construction outside, with nothing but loud bangs and booms. If you want a good night's sleep, go somewhere else. It's overpriced, and the lemon smell in the rooms is overwhelming enough to make you sick. I don't know what cleaning products they use, but the scent is too much. When the cleaning service comes in, they touch all your things and reorganize the whole room. It may look neat afterward, but it feels like someone has gone through everything you own. I'll never stay here again, and I do not recommend it.
