Hotel Xilon Resort Melgar

Really good.

The place looks good and has pleasant facilities, but our three-night stay had a lot of problems. We never got room cleaning, breakfast came very late, and some pools were closed. Several air conditioners weren't working, the TVs had a poor signal, and there was no toilet paper, so we had to bring our own toiletries. The charges were confusing too, with no clear billing. The hotel has potential, but its organization, upkeep, and guest service need work if the stay is to match what the facilities promise.

The facilities looked like they could make for a nice weekend away, which made the experience even more disappointing. I booked and paid through Airbnb, but when I arrived, reception said there were no rooms left. They told me they had sold mine because they didn't know whether I was coming. I was so frustrated with the lack of professionalism and organization that I had to call the police to get my money back. Terrible service and a very bad experience.

They gave us just one toilet paper roll for four people for all three days, no cleaning supplies, and nobody cleaned the room or changed the sheets during our three nights. On top of that, the breakfast they said was included turned out to cost extra. Then the hotel called while we were out in town, about an hour away, saying we'd paid for only two nights and had to leave or they'd call the police and charge us a 500,000 fine. That happened because their own staff hadn't communicated. They should at least have checked the details first. I've been treated better at two-star hotels.
