The pool was finally clean and a decent size, unlike some other hostels we’d stayed at. We had a spacious room with a nice mountain view from both the room and terrace. Breakfast was delicious, the staff were friendly, and the laundry came back quickly and clean. It’s a little off the main street, but Minca is small and everything is 10-15 minutes away on foot. A lovely stay for the price.

We got a great deal for Minca, a little away from the bustle of the town centre. We booked a double room with Balcony, and it was a huge surprise when we got there because the hotel’s exterior doesn’t look like much. We were really pleased with the room, and the bathroom seemed new with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was alright, with 3 options. The common areas could use a bit of refurbishment, though we didn’t use the pool.

The rooftop view is unbeatable, the rooms were clean, and the showers worked really well. Diana was incredibly kind and attentive and took great care of us. When we had some stomach issues, she even made us the most delicious soup. All the staff were super. We had a wonderful stay at El Refugio and highly recommend it.

The rooftop has a great view, and the location is quiet compared with the rest of Minca, while still close enough to reach everything on foot. The rooms are very basic, but clean and have what you need. Staff were friendly and helpful, and we felt right at home.
