Ayenda Alameda Real

During my three nights there, nobody cleaned the room or changed the sheets, and they didn’t leave towels or toilet paper. The shower was too cramped to use comfortably, with no curtain or glass, so water splashed around the room. The soap dispenser was open, too. I was put in room 105, where the door doesn’t shut right and can trap you. Service from the staff was awful, and there’s no phone number for complaints or requests. I’d never recommend this place.

The location worked well for me, central and near the bus terminal, with most places in Montería within about 20 minutes. The area seemed safe, and the night was quiet, with barely any sound from other rooms. The beds were comfortable and the room had air conditioning. Everything was very clean, including the bed, bathroom, and floors. They gave me soap and a towel, though I didn’t get the shampoo and conditioner packets I’ve had at other Ayenda hotels. It’s a basic place that suits a business stop or somewhere to sleep. The TV has cable but isn’t smart, and there’s no desk or table for a laptop or writing reports, which is a drawback for me. I didn’t get the Wi-Fi password, but I also didn’t ask. I couldn’t tell if there was a coffee station like the Ayenda app listing mentioned, since I didn’t see one or order coffee. The rate wasn’t expensive, and I arrived with low expectations, so the value was a pleasant surprise. I’d consider staying again. If you need lodging expenses documented for work, note that they don’t provide electronic invoices, so you’ll need to ask for a copy of their tax identification number (RUT).

I wouldn’t recommend this place unless they improve the service. There’s no 24-hour service, and when I arrived at night the receptionist was asleep in a room instead of at the desk. It took an hour for someone to open the door. They didn’t register our arrival, just handed over the room and asked each person to register. The air conditioning wasn’t on, the rooms aren’t cleaned, and the second floor has no Wi-Fi.

The Wi-Fi needs work, but the service was good. It’s an affordable, comfortable place in a good location, and the area feels safe.
