El Roble Hotel Boutique

The house was pleasant, but for what we paid, the accommodation and service didn’t feel up to standard. The side of the house we stayed in had no working kitchen. We could use a refrigerator, but had to go through staff to get anything from it, since we couldn’t access it ourselves. There wasn’t even a microwave to heat food or make popcorn. One bedroom’s bedside lamp had no bulb. When we asked for one, they said the cord couldn’t reach the outlet. We pointed out that it could, and were then told the lamp was just “decorative.” For that price, I think they could have found a bulb somewhere. Breakfast was mediocre at best. On the first day, the person serving us brought one item at a time for our group of seven. When we first booked, we were told our larger group would have three rooms, but at check-in we were given only two. That worked out because one person couldn’t travel, but if the group had stayed at its original size, two rooms wouldn’t have been enough and things would have been uncomfortable. Just because two people can fit in one bed doesn’t mean they want to share it. The house isn’t centrally located, so I wouldn’t stay without a car. Sharing it with other guests also made the stay less comfortable. Check-in staff were welcoming, but after that the atmosphere didn’t feel welcoming. It was okay, but I wouldn’t stay again, and the price didn’t match the accommodation or service.
