Hotel Dibeni Pereira

The location is great, right on a pedestrian street and close to everything. My room, unfortunately, was tiny, and I really missed having air conditioning during the few days I stayed. I also left my mouthguard behind. It was frustrating that they checked the room before checkout but never told me they’d found it, since replacing it while traveling is difficult.

The room was unbearably hot, and there wasn’t any air conditioning unit or wall-mounted AC, despite the online description saying each room had its own. All they had was a fan with a humidity button that sends water over a grid from a tank. The floor was filthy too. A small spill of water turned black from the dirt. I’d also booked a larger room with two beds and got just one bed. I speak English, while the staff spoke Spanish, and I understood I was in Colombia, so I didn’t ask about the room. I left after the first night and moved to another hotel.

The room was small, and the shower water was cold. The receptionist was friendly, though, and they let me check in late. Fine for a quick overnight stop.

We chose to cancel and move to another hotel, but they kept the payment for two nights. The neighborhood also felt unsafe. The room was unhygienic, with hair on the floor, a bad smell, and generally poor cleanliness. We asked several times for towels and never got any. There’s no air conditioning, just a fan that doesn’t cool the room. They also only take cash, no card payments. The service and policies weren’t traveler-friendly at all. Rating: 0/10.
