Hotel Don Quijote

The rooms are spacious, very clean, and don’t smell musty. There are mirrors in both the bedroom and bathroom, comfortable roomy mattresses, a Smart TV with internet, excellent Wi-Fi, and hot water you can adjust. You also get a desk and comfortable chair, plus a small fan, blankets, towels, shampoo, and liquid body wash. The temperature is cool, but the fan is still useful. In hot weather, I’d suggest choosing a room with air conditioning. The rooms are well soundproofed, so you can’t hear other rooms. Breakfast is served on the hotel terrace with a lovely view and is included in the rate. It’s good quality with decent portions, and you can pick from three combinations. The reception team and other staff are friendly and attentive. It’s a well-equipped hotel with very good value compared with others nearby, in a central, safe area near Vitoria shopping center, tourist parks, and the Pereira bus terminal.

The food was another letdown. It wasn’t awful, but it wasn’t very good either, and sometimes it was greasy or seemed like something store-bought and reheated. Service was disappointing from the start. If a room has air conditioning, I think that should be part of the price upfront. Charging for it by the day doesn’t make sense, especially when the room can get extremely hot because the flooring lets heat from the lights through. I also shouldn’t have to keep calling the person who explained the hotel to me just because another employee responds rudely and doesn’t even say good morning, afternoon, or evening.

Some of the staff weren’t very helpful, and my room didn’t get cleaned even once. It gets hot, and air conditioning is charged by the day. You have to ask VERY carefully just to get a quote. I get that they want to charge extra for AC, but it feels really wrong. They should include it in the price from the start. They don’t have a dataphone either.

The listing says there’s air conditioning, but that isn’t true. It feels like false advertising. I also don’t get why there’s a kitchen area when it isn’t equipped or suitable for cooking. A really bad experience, and I wouldn’t recommend this place at all.
