The doormen were a pleasure: welcoming, friendly, capable, and knowledgeable. They also quickly sorted out the HDMI TV cable and room safe issues I ran into shortly after checking in. My room at Soratama was the highlight of my stay in Colombia's coffee region. It was truly quiet, just as the soundproofing promised, and the ductless mini split AC gave me complete control. Pereira's warm, humid air was lovely while I explored, but I wanted a cool room when I got back, and the soundproofing and AC made it feel like an oasis. The recent renovation's colors and upscale materials added to that feeling. The bed and linens were at least as comfortable as the ones I have at home. I also enjoyed having the Skybar and breakfast restaurant on site, and the food at both was very tasty. The servers, though, were a letdown. They seemed brusque and irritated by my presence, unlike the doormen. I'd suggest management give service there a bit more attention. I'd definitely stay at Soratama again if I return to Pereira.

The buffet was decent enough, though not the best I've had. I also noticed some noise from neighboring rooms, and the bathrooms are quite small. On the plus side, the hotel was clean, well situated, and the service was excellent.

The restaurant food was expensive and didn't taste very good. I also felt uneasy about the location at night: the walk from the parking lot is a block and a half through a dangerous area, which isn't what I'd expect from a good hotel.

The facility is really nice, and the breakfast was amazing. Still, after my second day I noticed some older towels and eggs that had been burnt, so I'd ask management to check these things daily. If you're staying with children whose parents won't be there, make sure you bring the hotel's own notarized form. They won't accept any other notarized form.

Great value for the money, with a really nice rooftop bar and restaurant. The staff were great, and the downtown Pereira hotel is well maintained.
