Native Lodge Brisas del Sur

The best part of my nine nights at Native Lodge Brisas del Sur was getting to know local life through the host family. Mariela, Tano, Helen and Chadelaine helped me learn about the island's food, music, traditions and people, which made the holiday feel complete. My room was comfortable and had everything I needed: a king-size bed, fridge, air conditioning that worked perfectly, and a large bathroom with a big wardrobe. There was a TV too, though I never turned it on. Mariella cleaned daily and changed the sheets and towels every three days. The lodge is close to what I thought was the island's most beautiful beach, with lots of restaurants nearby. It was generally quiet, apart from the occasional dog or rooster, which you hear all over the island. Mariela made everything easy. I only had to say what I needed, and she arranged breakfast each day, a motorbike, airport transfers, restaurant information and more, all at the actual cost without a surcharge. She and the family were welcoming from the moment I arrived. Brisas Lodge del Sur went well beyond what I expected. I'd happily recommend staying with Mariela and her family.

Markets, restaurants, the beach and the dive school anda Di wata are all nearby. We had a fantastic stay, and Mariella was so kind to us. The rooms have air conditioning and private bathrooms. I'd recommend staying with her.

I felt I could trust Mariela like my own mother, and my time in Providencía was the best of my life. The hosts are lovely and speak great English. The room was spacious, with a bed big enough for three of me, and it smelled wonderful. It was cleaned every day, with fresh towels daily, an extra beach towel, and water bottles kept in the fridge. The air conditioning was top notch. There was a TV too, though I think I only switched it on before bed 😂 Breakfast was excellent, always with fresh fruit and juice. Maracuya, or passion fruit, was my favorite. The island bread and fish balls were so good. It's about five minutes from Southwest Bay, the longest beach, where there are a few places to eat and get drinks. I truly recommend staying here.

It felt like being welcomed into someone's home instead of treated like a customer, and this was the best place I stayed during my trip around Colombia. The people are open, very hospitable and kind. Rooms are clean and basic. It's a small, quiet place with only a few rooms, not a party spot. I stayed four nights.
