The morning light showed that our room hadn't been cleaned. There was even a whole croissant and a cup under the bed. I think the owner was frazzled and genuinely trying to fix an honest mistake, since the room hadn't been cleaned before it was offered to us. The water was only tepid, with no hot water for washing our hands or showering. We were glad to have a small kitchen and a comfortable place to rest. The little pool was a nice spot to sit and read in the morning. The owner also offers to wash up to 10 items of clothing for a fee. Be sure you speak Spanish well before staying here. We booked online earlier that day, but when we arrived there was no sign outside to show we'd found the place. We spent more than 30 minutes searching in the dark, then called the bed and breakfast. They asked us to wait. While we sat on the curb, getting more frustrated, the owner arrived on the back of a motorbike. She said our names and took us inside. She tried to explain that we hadn't confirmed and she'd given away our room. She showed us another room that was available, which we accepted, then asked us to sit while she brought in fresh linens.

The garden is lovely, with fruit trees and birds, and there's a pool too. It's only a few minutes on foot to the beach. I got a very warm welcome and felt at ease the whole time. A thoughtfully designed hotel, with good food and a peaceful, relaxing feel.

Mr. Jairo was kind, helpful, and respectful, and the staff were thoughtful about our family's needs, including providing a crib for the baby. That added a personal touch to the service. The breakfast was delicious and had a good variety, clearly prepared with care. The hotel itself was comfortable, quiet, and well kept, which made it easy to rest and feel well. My experience at Hotel Casa Playa Porto Azul was very satisfying. Its facilities and the warmth and professionalism of the management met and even exceeded my expectations.

We really enjoyed the food and drinks, and the service was excellent. It's a cool, peaceful spot surrounded by nature, good for relaxing or spending time with friends and family. The beach is only two blocks away.
