Finca Turistica Machangara

The trails around Machangara are a big draw, with MTB, road, and gravel routes for different skill levels. Birdwatching is great too, thanks to the area's rich variety of species. We at Pedaling Coffee also enjoyed learning about local coffee customs and traditions. Set between Quimbaya and Montenegro, Quindío, the Machangara farm hotel feels like a peaceful retreat. The staff are warm and hospitable, and the historic house has real character and a calm atmosphere that's hard to find in today's fast-paced world. Whether you want to relax, spend time in nature, or take on the trails, it's a lovely option. We can't wait to return.

A lovely spot to take in the peace of Colombia's coffee region. There are lots of parks and attractions nearby for day trips.

We spent almost a week here with my wife, our 6-year-old daughter, and my in-laws, and we'd happily return. The owners and staff were warm and attentive, and the Finca was beautiful, with hummingbirds all around. Its location in eje cafetero was convenient for Parque del Cafe and other sites. One of the highlights was touring the Finca, meeting the workers, and walking through a Cacao field. The pool was a nice extra too.

We had a wonderful stay on this quiet farm, tucked just off the beaten path in the heart of Quindio. The people were incredibly warm and hospitable. Don Antonio can show you around the lush farm, and his wife can make a typical lunch with fruit grown on the property. If you have time, stay a few nights. A local driver can take you to neighboring towns like Quimbaya, Montenegro, and Salento. Try hot chocolate and a grilled arepa from a street vendor, then stop at a cafe for locally grown coffee or a bunuelo. It's very safe and great for families. You'll learn about the food, coffee, and culture, and come away thinking about how much more there is to life and how precious it is to be human.
