The room and bed were comfortable, and there’s a café just across the street. But I stayed for a week and had to ask for the room to be cleaned. Maybe they were short staffed. I also asked about laundry service, which wasn’t available, though I could use their washer and dryer. They wanted to charge me for doing my own laundry. I’d have paid for a service, but if I’m doing it myself, I shouldn’t be charged beyond soap. There’s no breakfast, and cheaper hotels nearby include it, so the price feels high for what’s offered. It’s a nice place, but a few things need tightening up for the money.

Breakfast was delicious, with a nice variety of Colombian food and vegan choices. We also enjoyed the complimentary massage and paid a small extra fee to extend it to a full body massage. The staff were friendly and spoke English. The rooms feel brand new, with great facilities and luxury products, in a small boutique hotel. It’s two blocks from the main city center, so Salento feels peaceful while restaurants and attractions are still an easy walk away. Highly recommended.

You step right out into the plaza, with shops and PG transport a short walk away, and a pool at Club Gorrones just 50m away. Rooms are spacious and clean, with a good shower, strong air conditioning, a fridge, safe, and TV where you can log into YouTube. The hotel replies quickly on Whatsapp, and you feel valued throughout your stay. I’m usually skeptical about hotels in Colombia, especially outside the cities, but the service in Roldanillo can sometimes be better than in Europe. If you need quiet to rest after flying, I recommend choosing a room away from the street. Make the most of what the village has to offer. I’ll be back very soon!
