Hostel Camelot

The rooms stayed hot and humid 24/7, and the only showers we had were cold. The plastic beds were uncomfortable, and the staff were unfriendly. The hostel is nicely decorated, but that's the only positive I can give it. Also, you could end up with wet feet in the toilet from whoever showered before you. Not recommendable.

The plastic under the sheets made the beds horrible to sleep on, and it was especially loud in a shared room. We also found the two older ladies who own the place very impolite. Even asking for drinking water made us feel like a huge inconvenience. After checkout, we asked to leave our bags for a while and were told to collect them before 4, 'otherwise we may lose them'. Not the best people.

After staying two nights, we weren't allowed to use the bathroom once more after checkout, which I've never encountered at any of the hostels I've stayed in. The elderly lady was quite rude overall. I'd texted a few hours before arriving, but they wouldn't reserve a room for us. The room itself was okay.

For a short stay, this is good value, with big clean rooms, hot showers, free wifi, and free luggage storage. The two women were helpful and nice to us, and there are three friendly cats, a dog, and lots of space in the common areas. The place has a style quite different from what you're used to in south america. It's just minutes on foot from the main square and restaurants, but there's no guest kitchen and towels aren't provided.
