Claudia's massages were the highlight for me. She was patient and professional, the pressure was amazing, and I ended up booking two. The setting is beautiful, and it's not too far from town. A few things to know: get a room with the mountain view. The cheaper room, about £100 less, was incredibly noisy in the morning and felt like any basic hotel; we spent one night in a nicer cabin with a lovely view. Dinner at the restaurant aims for gourmet food, but the portions are small for the high price. The vegetarian choices were okay, though we ate much better in town for a lot less. The staff, especially reception, were lovely and made our stay really enjoyable.

Daniela deserves a special thanks for her steady, clear WhatsApp messages and the great chats in person. The staff were warm and attentive, and the place had a calming, restorative feel, whether we were in the breakfast area, around the property, or at the spa. My room was spacious, spotless, and comfortable, with stunning balcony views that made mornings feel special. Breakfast, including the fresh fruit, was great, and the service and atmosphere added to the stay. Hotel Kawa Mountain Retreat was a memorable, peaceful escape connected to nature, and I left refreshed and already thinking about coming back. Highly recommend it if you want to unwind.

The staff communicated really well and arranged airport transfers and excursions, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We were glad to visit Kawa Retreat in the wet season, since the mist and clouds made the views even more spectacular. The views, services, and staff were all wonderful, and we even had hummingbirds visit our balcony once.

Kawa felt so relaxed and safe that we didn't even need to lock our door when we went out. I only wish we'd added another day in Salento. The breakfast was among the best of my Colombian vacation, and dinner one night was exceptional. The rooms were lovely, and the staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. We booked the La Carbonera tour through the hotel after arriving and were glad we did, the transport was more comfortable than arranging it ourselves, and the guides were great. I'd book a coffee tour independently, though. I worried there might be no hot tub slots, but there was plenty of availability once we got there. Our room was a bit chilly, but a heater and extra blankets fixed it, and keeping the bathroom door closed helped since the cold came from there. Kawa felt luxurious, and I'd absolutely stay again.

The reception team went out of their way to make our stay special, and everyone on staff was wonderful. We loved the incredible views and delicious breakfast, and the hot tub was easy to book and wonderfully relaxing. There’s a pleasant wooded walk into town, plus a complimentary taxi pickup at 9 pm that made the trip back effortless.
