We felt right at home thanks to the warm care from Rodney, Jennifer, and the rest of the staff. It’s clean and air conditioned, and breakfast is hearty. We used the Jacuzzi every day to cool off in the Caribbean heat. The hotel is a little way from the center, but walking there as a group made the time pass without us noticing.

The room also had a broken interior door, a clogged sink, and old towels that were so worn they were almost black. There was no hot water, and at times no water at all, but nobody told us ahead of time. When we asked, the staff just said, “Oh, they didn’t tell you?” No, they hadn’t. We spent 3 days and 3 nights with the air conditioning stuck at 18°C because of a technical problem. We asked the staff four times to fix it and were ignored. The technician finally turned up on the morning we checked out. With freezing cold water, a room constantly at 18°C, and 35°C outside, the stay was unbearable. I could say more, but I’ll stop here. One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had.
The staff were really friendly and always ready to help, and the hotel was clean and pleasant. It could use a little maintenance, but the experience was good overall. For the location, atmosphere, welcoming staff, and price, I thought it was a very good deal. I’d definitely come back and recommend it.
The room was comfortable, but poorly thought out in practice. The bathroom fixtures were rusty and falling apart, and the broken window handle let all the street noise in. We couldn’t sleep with the motos, cars, and people outside. On top of that, construction had started on a new block where our room was, with drilling and hammering in the next room from 8:00 am, and on some days until 7pm. They finally fixed the window on day 3, our last day. The breakfast was called “varied,” but it wasn’t good or suitable for food restrictions. I’m vegetarian-semi vegan. They wouldn’t give me extra fruit, the scrambled eggs had shell pieces, and the waffles came without honey, syrup, jelly, or anything. The two women working in the kitchen and service were very friendly, but there were only two of them cooking for and serving more than 30 people. On the second day, the arepas were still undercooked, and there were no vegetarian or vegan choices beyond eggs, jam, milk, and yoghurt. The first night, someone on the hotel staff woke us at 4:00 am by mistakenly opening our door while trying to check in other guests. I had to get out of bed and ask them to be quieter because they were making a lot of noise in the corridor explaining the hotel rules. Booking’s payment option hadn’t worked when we made the reservation, so we were asked to pay the full amount directly in advance. That left us unable to change the reservation or complain through booking and go somewhere else on the first day. This was the worst stay in San Andres and one of the five worst of my life. Definitely not recommended if you want a pleasant island stay.
A lovely, easy place to stay. The owner helped us with everything, and the island’s main beach is 1 km away, close enough to walk.
