Aquamare Hotel

The restaurant had a lovely view, and some staff members were warm, professional, and smiling. Good service from certain employees made parts of the stay much nicer. My room request was another matter. I asked several times well in advance for a balcony and sea view, though I knew it wasn't guaranteed. I arrived to a room on the 3rd floor with no view. After asking again, I was moved to the 4th floor. That was a little better, but still not what I had hoped for. I also had to go through reception each time to use the gym because my room key wouldn't open that floor. Breakfast was disappointing apart from the delicious fruit. The rest wasn't as good as I'd expected, and the room was crowded and noisy. I don't see why they don't use the terrace too, since it might make breakfast more pleasant. At the restaurant, Jaime wouldn't let me use the table for six at around 4:00pm, saying it was reserved for 6:30pm, even though it was empty. Later, a different server let other guests sit there and even offered to clear it for them. That inconsistency felt unprofessional and was disappointing. The hotel is decent, but management and consistency in service need work.

We found it quiet and well placed, away from the busy areas but only a short walk from the pier where tours leave. Public beaches and the main strip of restaurants, shops, and bars are also just minutes away on foot. The room was spacious and very clean, with a comfortable bed. Thanks to housekeeping for that. The shared bar and restaurant areas were nicely decorated. Breakfast was busy, but there was plenty of good food, with a different menu each day and delicious fresh fruit. Everyone was welcoming, from the gentleman who greeted us at the door and showed us to reception to the polite, professional reception staff who gave us useful information. Great service and value. I'd definitely recommend it.

The pool on the 5th floor is lovely and has a partial sea view. The gym is pretty good for a hotel, though there are no towels or water fountain there. The hotel is centrally located, within easy walking distance of the beach, shops, restaurants, and airport. Our room was roomy and had strong air conditioning and a balcony with a nice view. It was handy for drying beach gear, too. The windows kept out noise from traffic and nearby bars. There were some housekeeping issues. The mirrors and windows had dirty streaks, and the floor felt sticky, so the room didn't seem fully clean. Housekeepers were also loud in the corridors, with music and conversation. Still, the staff were very friendly, the breakfast buffet had everything we wanted and more, and the coffee was good. We were delighted with our stay.

The room was spacious, with powerful AC, and the elevators were quick. The bed was quite hard, so it may not suit side sleepers. Security was at reception around the clock. The staff were welcoming and polite. They even helped us order room service after midnight, though unfortunately the food was terrible. The pool didn't impress us much. To get a towel, you exchange a towel card, and they give the card back when you return the towel.
