Bugry Beach House Inn

I loved relaxing in a hammock with coconut water and a book, looking out at the sea and all its colors. It’s right on the beach, a peaceful spot to switch off, and the staff were kind, friendly, and responsive. The setting brought on plenty of daydreaming and a wonderful sense of well-being. It’s comfortable and eco-friendly, though not a five star hotel. Rocky Kay is within walking distance for typical island food, and rental places for motorcycles or golf cars are close by. We used one to get around the island. The location also worked well for arranging a boat to the keys and for fishing. We enjoyed our stay on this beautiful island.

Bugry Beach house is right on the water, which is the one thing I liked about it. The property is badly neglected and needs a lot of repairs, and although there’s a deck to sit on, Alicia doesn’t maintain the beach. My friend and I both found ants in our beds and got bitten at night. When we asked Alicia to spray, she looked at us like we were a nuisance. She changed some of the bedding each day, but not all of it. Alicia was extremely rude, inconsiderate, and unhelpful. Other people on the island we spoke to felt the same way about her. She had told my friend to arrange our extra three nights directly with her outside Booking. Then she raised the price dramatically, and we had to bargain to get close to the price she’d quoted months earlier. We paid 20.000 more each in the end to avoid more hassle. She also called us Nazis, apparently because we were getting upset about what was happening. The listing said breakfast was available for 12,000, but when we asked, she just said, “no breakfast,” without explaining. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone, even if it looks like a good deal.

I found my regular place to stay in San Andres! It’s very clean, the service is excellent, and the location is great. I strongly recommend it.
