Hotel Buddha Villa

This really doesn’t deserve its rating. There’s no food, no shampoo, the shower gel is watered down, housekeeping is substandard, and towels are changed only once a week. The shower has no hot water, and I didn’t see anyone look after the pool during the four days I was there. From the bed, you can see each other using the bathroom because the door is transparent. We also never managed to use the hotel Wi-Fi. I read that it was “3 minutes from the beach,” but unless you’re a fakir, there are no sandy beaches on this side of the island. Getting to one takes over 20 minutes by car. I’d also read that some people could cook or use bicycles, but we couldn’t. We couldn’t even borrow a towel to go to the beach, despite being the only guests in the hotel. This is definitely not a hotel.

The room was decent, but there was no hot water in the shower. The location is really poor if you want to be near downtown and the island’s main beaches.

Mrs. Catalina kept correcting us over little things that didn’t affect anyone, and she didn’t do it kindly. It felt like being under military rules, with one “don’t” after another, and no freedom to enjoy the facilities.

The three hosts are wonderful and made me feel completely at home. It’s one of the most beautiful, special places I’ve visited, with impeccable service. I wanted to stay longer, and I’d love to return.
