I’ve never had hotel staff be this confrontational with a guest. The woman working here, Claudia Lupegui, made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome on my second day in San Andrés because I didn’t have a face mask. Yes, people should wear masks and follow the rules, but there still needs to be some human kindness. If masks are that important, the hotel should provide them at the entrance. I’d like to make a formal complaint. I’ve never been treated this unkindly at a place I chose to stay, and her behavior left a terrible impression of my time in San Andrés. I wish I could move to another hotel. The hotel should tell its staff to calm down. The aggression I experienced from this staff member was beyond what I expected.

There was no hot water, and good luck getting the Wi-Fi to work. We were also charged to have the towels washed. The elevator smelled of mold, and there was mildew, possibly mold, on the wall. I wouldn’t stay here again, even if I were paid to.

They wouldn’t refund us even though we’d only been there for an hour. We left and found the Hotel Sardenia Bahai around the corner, which was much cleaner, better value, and a better place to stay. This hotel felt like a rip-off. The receptionist wasn’t helpful and demanded money before we’d even stayed. The toilets leaked, there was no hot water, the bathrooms had old, dirty soap, and it was noisy. Avoid it.

The beds were clean and the air conditioning worked, but valuables were taken from the room.
