Hotel Tiuna

The pool was one of the reasons we booked, and the hotel told us it was available. When we got there, it was closed. The all-inclusive food was very poor, and street food would be a better choice. Drinks were mixed with awful sodas; the bartender seemed unable to make anything beyond liquor and soda, and there were no cocktails included, perhaps because they were too difficult to make. The air conditioner only made the room a little cool and left it more humid than cold, which made sleeping hard. They also failed to mention that the towel policy is one towel per room, no matter how many people are staying. Guests should be told ahead of time, so they're not stuck buying one at a crazy price. I'd advise paying a little more and staying elsewhere. This hotel needs a lot of improvement.

The panorama was fantastic, but there wasn't much else to recommend the hotel. Maintenance was poor: doors and windows were very hard to open or close, and the air conditioner dripped and was extremely nasty. The TV had only four poor-quality channels. There was no Wi-Fi in the rooms, and although the lobby had it, staff didn't know the password. The cleaning was the worst part. It seemed nobody had shown the cleaning staff how to do the job. Doors, panels, windows, ceilings, the air conditioning system and nearly everything else were filthy, greasy and unpleasant. Even the restaurant doors were extremely dirty. Breakfast and dinner were included; the food was okay, but choices were limited and it was served in an army-style way. The hotel needs responsible leadership and employees who take pride in their work and service. I could say more, but won't. I hope people choose somewhere else until the standard improves. If I'd found this hotel in the middle of Africa, I wouldn't have been surprised, but on one of the most beautiful Caribbean islands, I was badly surprised.

We could hardly sleep before 1am because the staff didn't step in when people were making so much noise. The room was disgusting: dirty blankets and pillows with a terrible smell. The all-inclusive food was very poor quality. Thank goodness we only stayed one night. It's a shame, because the location is very good and the hotel was excellent a few years ago. I really hope it improves and becomes what it used to be.

The room had been prepared before we arrived. Everything was spotless and smelled lovely, which made for a wonderful hotel experience.
