Posada for Living

We stayed in the studio apartment, which was just right. It matched the listing, with a private entrance, air conditioning, and a clean, comfortable bed and space. The place was tidy and harmonious, in a quiet part of San Andrés, a little way from the center, good for relaxing after a day at the beach. Luz and her husband were attentive, friendly, and always ready to help. It’s an affordable, comfortable choice on such an expensive island, and I’d definitely stay again.

The hosts were incredibly helpful and attentive, and we’d return to Posada For Living S.A.I. a thousand times. Great location and 100% value, with everything close by and the main beach about a 20-minute walk away.

We booked through Booking because the price looked good, and figured we could live with the less convenient location. After walking through a modest residential area, we found nobody at the hotel to help us. A few minutes later someone finally showed us to our rooms, then told us to wait again for the owner to check in and sort out the rest. When he arrived, he said the price was wrong and that we’d have to pay double, since they charged per person rather than per room. We left rather than accept that. The floor was wet from the refrigerator, the roof terrace looked like a construction site, and the area didn’t feel especially nice. For twice the price, you could at least get a hotel on the island with a pool, decent air conditioning, and a somewhat safer feeling. Don’t fall for this provider’s “cheap” prices.

This felt more like staying with a local family than at a hotel. My room had a double bed and bunk bed crammed in, with nowhere comfortable to sit or read. The room next door had no window, just a dark concrete vault. At least the air conditioning in mine worked. The location and facilities were described in a way that set me up for disappointment. Wi-Fi was weak, perhaps because of the location, and the so-called sun terrace was a grim, unsafe construction site. The nearest beach is really a boat anchorage and didn't look inviting for swimming. Getting there means a long walk through a modest residential area, and town is several strenuous kilometers away. The shower had only cold water. From the garden-view window I could see a few palms and banana plants, plus a lot of trash. There wasn't a suitable breakfast spot or restaurant nearby. The place described as a hair salon was actually teenagers cutting one another's hair. More realistic information from the hosts would help people avoid disappointment.
