Traveler Hostel

Fernanda and Angie made my stay feel special. They were kind and helpful, and made everyone feel at ease. I kept extending my visit because the atmosphere was so welcoming. It felt like a home away from home, and I really didn’t want to leave. Highly recommend!

The grounds are really nice, and I enjoyed the different activities. The staff were friendly, and the beds comfortable, so I had a great time overall. A few things could be better: the first-floor showers weren’t warm, there weren’t enough trash bins, including none in our dorm, and towels or refills seemed more expensive than at other hostels.

The pool and hammocks are in a lovely little backyard in the middle of the city, with great views. I enjoyed sitting there, chatting with other guests, and taking in the atmosphere. The hostel also had a different social activity each evening, from bonfires to soccer and tejo. I had a massage there too, and it was so good. The staff were friendly and gave useful advice. They helped book all my activities and checked in to see how I was doing if they noticed I had a free day. The owner was around during the day and very involved. Traveler Hostel is my favorite place I’ve stayed in Colombia so far, and made my time in San Gil really enjoyable.

I meant to stay three nights and ended up there for a week and a half. The staff are some of the friendliest, and breakfast is delicious. There are several roomy, clean common spaces, and I loved the tropical plants throughout the hostel. Upstairs, the pool has a wide view over San Gil. Both dorms and private rooms have comfortable beds. In the evenings they put on fun things like dance class, tejo, or football. I’ll definitely come back!
