We spent a week with Ms. Betty and felt sincerely honored. She knows so much about the town’s history, having served as its director of tourism and taken part in the UNESCO designation process. She also connected us with local transport, tour guides, and other things to do. The hotel itself feels like stepping into a period-appropriate home of a well-to-do family, with modern comforts including running water, air conditioning, and a pool. Breakfast and coffee were delicious, and they even cooked eggs my kids picked at a local farm (Fin del Afan), which they loved. The owner’s family has owned this historic hotel for hundreds of years, no kidding. This is a historic town, too. I rarely leave reviews, but Casa Sinning deserves the recommendation.

Everything was on time, and the breakfast was delicious. We loved our stay, and the house has everything a place like Mompox needs. The owner was so special, welcoming, and friendly, and she shared her knowledge with us. Great service, charisma, and real warmth. Excellent in every way!

The room (Matilda) felt a little dark and damp, even with two ceiling fans and air conditioning. I’d also improve the breakfast selection and choose a better coffee brand. We are in Colombia, after all. On the other hand, the pool was unbeatable on hot afternoons, and Betty, Ketty, and Jazmín were all so kind. It’s a pretty traditional Mompox house, very well located, with welcoming decor, plants, flowers, and atmosphere. 🙂

We stayed four nights and had a wonderful time. Everything was organized and in its place, and the house’s positive energy really came through. It’s large and beautiful, with antique furniture. I have complete confidence in the place. A thousand thanks to Doña Betty and her employees. Thank you, thank you. May the new year bring blessings and prosperity, Doña Betty.
