A charming little plaza that gets lively at night, just as you’d expect in the Centro Histórico. The government building on one side is impressive, and the surrounding streets are full of life.
10/10
A really safe spot for families, with lots of open-air restaurants around.

In Santa Marta’s Centro Histórico, this park area is surrounded by plenty of good restaurants, bars, and discotecas. It gets extremely lively at night, especially on weekends.

I like walking through Parque de los Novios in the evening or early morning for exercise. My favorite part is the street performers, though you can also watch people, eat at the little nearby restaurants, grab a drink, and see what’s going on. There are lots of police around, so it feels safe. There are also mini benches, though some of the bars are missing. When it rains, everyone gathers under the shelter, which is cute. You can find people selling beer and ice cream there, too.
8/10
A popular spot for people of all ages to meet. There’s often live entertainment and interesting things to see outdoors. Restaurants and eateries line two sides of the park.
