Bacano Lofts

It’s clean, close to everything in downtown Santa Marta, and has a tiny kitchen with the basics. Towels and sheets are provided. A good place to spend a night before heading to Tayrona national park.

The location is handy for the market square, but it only opens at night, so the area feels unsafe. The hotel is affordable and simple, with good value for the price. The room cleaning was poor, though, with dust and bugs, and the bathroom and shower were in very bad shape.

The location works if you need to be near the market, but otherwise it feels very isolated. Hygiene at the hostel was terrible: cockroaches everywhere, dusty beds, dirty curtains, and broken air conditioning.

The hotel had apparently been sold two months earlier, and when we arrived, they had no record of our reservation. Our first room hadn’t been cleaned, the door lock was very poor, and the facilities were neglected. Check your room carefully as soon as you arrive.
