We stayed in a few different private rooms across several visits, and they were nice enough overall. The front desk staff were nice too. The restaurant was mixed: the food was good the first time, but the second visit was a big problem. That matters here because the area is too dangerous for going elsewhere to get dinner at night. We waited about 15 minutes for drinks, then the volunteer said our food would be along in a couple of minutes. It had accidentally gone to someone else. After 45 minutes, I went to check and saw the chef putting it in the microwave. The bread, lettuce, tomato, fries, and other food came out quite soggy. Then the chef ate some fries off our plate. I told the volunteer what I’d seen and asked if they wanted to replace the fries. The chef just laughed, and we waited another five minutes. In the end, it took over an hour to get soggy food, with some of it missing. I’d recommend heading straight to Minca and/or Tayrona and avoiding Santa Marta and this hostel.

Colorful, lively, and full of soul. The pool area feels cheerful, with lots of places to hang out, from hammocks to shady and sunny spots. The staff are genuine, the food is good, and I met some amazing people. I spent two nights here and had a spiritual journey. It felt safe, and it’s a great spot. 🧘♀️

The residential area felt completely safe, and it’s an easy walk to Santa Marta’s centre and the local market. I’d happily stay again. The hostel is clean and has everything you need, with a comfortable bed in the private room and a strong shower that stays well stocked. The hammocks and pool outside make for a really relaxing spot. Staff were friendly, professional, and spoke good English. Thank you ☺️

The service stood out, from the kitchen crew to reception and housekeeping, and the atmosphere was great. It’s near the market, with a pleasant short walk to the centre and beach. Great hostel in Santa Marta, just a little short on the cacao…

The pool, loungers, and hammocks were lovely, and we could safely leave our bags in storage while visiting nearby towns. The hostel is also handy for the bus stop serving Tayrona, Palomino, and Minca. Front desk staff were really helpful. The kitchen is pretty big, though it gets busy.
