The building feels a little old, but it’s clean, and the pools are nice. The staff are so kind and really make the place.

The beach was nice, but I wouldn’t recommend staying here. There are plenty of cheaper places in Santa Marta. The breakfast buffet wasn’t good apart from the fruit, and the hotel wouldn’t refund my first night even though Avianca cancelled my flight with about four hours’ notice.

The day pass cost 110.000 cop and included a cocktail and a generous lunch. The food was good, and Leader looked after us brilliantly all day.

This is an average hotel for an average price, near a nice beach. It seems mainly set up for Colombian guests, so it isn’t very prepared for international visitors. Marisol was the only person I found who spoke English and could help. The water setup bothered me. There are no dispensers, and the only option is buying small plastic bottles for 5000-8000 COP, which felt expensive for Colombia. Since it’s hot and the hotel is far from other places, there isn’t much choice. I used more plastic bottles during this stay than I had in the whole previous year, which felt sad when so many people are trying to reduce plastic use. One more surprise: using the room safe costs extra per day. Nobody mentioned it or posted a notice, so I only found out at checkout. That felt really unsettling.

It was clean and comfortable, like a typical Colombian hotel. The pool area was quite noisy, though, with the fountains and music.
