The location works well if you want to be within walking distance of the beach and restaurants, and it felt safe to walk around, even at night. It’s good value for the price and spot, though definitely not fancy. This isn’t a place for partying or meeting lots of people, but that suited what I needed. The owners are super friendly and helpful. Most of the guests I met were Spanish-speaking tourists from other parts of South America, and I wish I knew more Spanish. The rooms are basic and the shower is cold. I spent my first night in a four-bed dorm, but street music was too loud, so I switched to a single private room and slept better. There’s a kitchen and a fridge for your things. Santa Marta airport is about 15 minutes away. The ride cost 22000, around $10, though you can take the blue public bus too.

A conveniently located hotel with helpful staff. Breakfast is tasty if you request it, and I liked the old furniture and doors around the house.

Good prices and good deals for tourists, with a really kind staff and great service.
