Hotel Palmarena

The room was in awful shape. Paint was peeling, the light switches were in very poor condition, and the bathroom sink was almost completely detached from the wall and looked ready to fall. The shower was very dirty and dark, and the TV didn't work properly. There were many other disgusting things about the room. The restaurant was supposed to have an a la carte menu for each meal except breakfast, but they served whatever had been prepared that day. The breakfast and lunch server was very nice. The night shift guy was the worst: he insisted we sit where he wanted, by the kitchen door where we could hear everything, then kept the TV very loud and sat right behind us, laughing loudly while we ate dinner. Almost all the staff were extremely rude, especially a blonde lady other employees said was one of the managers. On our third day, there was no running water for around 12-16 hours. My mother noticed it early that morning and went to reception. They told her there was a plumbing problem and they'd fix it as soon as possible. She understood and only asked for a bucket from the small water reserve so we could flush the toilet and wash our hands. After hours without water, we asked again, even offering to carry it upstairs ourselves. They barely answered, only telling us to go back to the room and that they'd bring it. Almost 12 hours after our 6am request, there was still no running water and no bucket. We complained and asked for a full refund because of the unsanitary conditions and rude staff. Only then did we get the water we'd been waiting for since morning. The hotel has 3.5 stars. I thought that would be okay for my family since we'd spend little time there aside from sleeping, eating or using the pool. The experience was awful.

This place used to be a very good hotel, but it isn't what it was some years ago. The new management has completely ruined it.
