I wouldn't recommend staying at LUA ORIGENES. The rooms were dirty, the beds had sand in them, and the TV only got Caracol and RCN. The receptionist wouldn't give us directions from the start. Housekeeping was loud, turning the TV up and shouting at 4 or 5 in the morning, though there wasn't even music playing at night. Around 5 or 6 a.m., they also slammed a door that wouldn't close while we were trying to sleep. Outside, there were four or five homeless people, and far too many people roaming around the area. If you have a choice, stay somewhere else.

It's peaceful here, and the service is fantastic. If you need to get somewhere, they'll explain how to go by bus or car.

The bathroom smelled awful, the beds had sand in them, and the room hadn't even been cleaned properly. The AC and fan in the room they gave us were both broken, the toilet wouldn't flush, and the receptionist was incredibly rude. When we returned the room, they kept 120,000 out of the 380,000 we'd paid, saying it was "disorganized." He said the 120,000 was for the cleaner, and they were clearly hurrying to clean the floor. I appreciate you taking the time to read this so no one else has to deal with the same situation.

It's a modest, very affordable hotel, and the price matches what you get. The rooms are comfortable, with a small bathroom, a ceiling fan, and air conditioning that works wonderfully. It isn't pretty, striking, or luxurious, but it does the job when you need somewhere to spend the night. The staff are very kind.
