La Villana Hostel

While I was out, staff went into my room without permission. When I came back, the door was wide open and the key was still in the lock. They had also used a frying pan to burn coffee in my room. A staff member admitted going in and said they had 'notified me,' which was a complete lie. I then found cash and a SmartWatch missing from my belongings, but management denied everything. I had to call the police and file a formal report. The staff became so aggressive and hostile that the police escorted us out for our safety. The promised Wi-Fi wasn't available either, and the place was being renovated with no notice. This was a nightmare experience. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

The music was loud late into the night, even though the bar was empty. When I asked them to turn it down a little, they made it louder and got angry. The kitchen was short on equipment, so it was almost impossible to cook for myself.

We paid 240k pesos a night for a private room, which is quite expensive for a hostel. There was no water, and just one towel for two people. They offered another, but it was damp. There was no soap, the TV didn't work, and we had to use the shared shower, where the toiletries were really nasty. Cleaning was very poor too. When I asked for answers, the people there told me to call the owner as if they weren't responsible, but he didn't pick up. I ended up calling the police and making a complaint. I usually don't write reviews, but this place was worth the hassle. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Definitely don't go here.

I liked that it's near the beaches. The AC only runs from 10pm. One of the two toilets had no seat, while the other looked old and dirty. There was construction going on inside the hostel during my stay, and the pool water didn't look clean.
