The staff were friendly and helpful, but I was disappointed by the hotel and the value for money. The pictures make it look bigger than it is. The indoor pool by the lobby is tiny, and there was no air conditioning there or in the hallway. There isn't much to do nearby, so we had to take a taxi whenever we wanted to go somewhere. There are few windows as well.

We had a quick one-night stay at this very clean hotel in a convenient location. The receptionist went out of their way to show us around and look after us, and the welcome cocktail was a nice touch. I really appreciated the help with exchanging money, affordable laundry, luggage, and transportation. The only thing that made sleeping difficult was the wind howling past our room at night. The windows were right above the bed, though, so that's not really the hotel's fault. I recommend it.

The nearby beach wasn't pretty or fun, and the breakfast was small and basic. The pool is tiny, indoors, and right by reception. Even though the bedrooms are quite large, they're decorated for cold weather, with a fur throw on the bed and velvet on the walls. We changed rooms and got one with tinted windows because the building across the way was so close I could easily have conversations with its residents. In the restaurant, you can barely tell whether the sun is shining outside. I've travelled all over and usually adapt easily, but the musty smell and poor ventilation made me feel claustrophobic, like I was suffocating. I wonder what incentives the people who left good reviews were given. If you want to feel like you're in a bunker instead of a beach town, this place is for you.

The beach is just a few metres away and very tranquil, and the staff are lovely people who are happy to help. Breakfast is exceptional, and the Mediterranean-inspired evening menu looks delicious. Rooms have fantastic design in this stylish, contemporary hotel, with a semi-indoor pool that's perfect for cooling off in the midday sun. By far the best hotel in the Santa Marta/Rodadero area and the best value for money in Colombia. Well done, guys.
