Our hosts were great and helped us choose places to visit. The location worked perfectly for day trips to nearby towns like Tota, Aquitania, Mongui, and other traditional Boyacá pueblos. We definitely recommend staying here in Sogamoso.

The breakfast was good, and they arrange nice tours, but it felt a bit expensive for what you get. I spent two nights in a dorm, and it was small with a lot of beds. There wasn’t much daylight, and the artificial lighting was limited, so the room felt dark. Towels aren’t provided.

The Museo Arqueologico was the highlight for us. There was no English tour, but its collections were so full of treasures that we could still appreciate it, especially after learning about Muisca history in San Agustin. Finca San Pedro is a special family home just outside Sogamosa, with generations of history behind it. The grounds are sprawling, with beautiful perennials and trees that were unfamiliar to us. We enjoyed exploring, with three dogs and a family of geese following along. Juan, a family member and director of the well-known yoga program based there, speaks excellent English and was available for questions and advice. Our room in the main house was comfortable, and the open-air reception area was easy to reach. Staff member Eli helped us, and we used the house phone to call taxis into town, which cost 5000 cop. Breakfast was simple and served outside by the kitchen: rolls, juice, coffee, and eggs made to order.
