Hotel H53

We chose this hotel because of the reviews, but our stay was one of the worst we’ve had in Colombia. The room was clean, but for the price it was missing basic things, even a lamp by the bed. Breakfast was a joke, with hardly any choice and just a couple of basic dishes that didn’t justify the cost. The noise was the biggest problem. A club is right next door, and that wasn’t mentioned. After we’d checked in and paid, they said it closed at 11 PM. It didn’t. The music went on until 4 in the morning. We complained after the first night, and the receptionist said he’d call the police if it happened again. On the second night, it happened again. When we went down at 3 AM, he said there was nothing he could do. Our windows faced the street where clubgoers shouted and talked right below us. Most of the nearby rooms seemed empty after that first night, so we expected to be offered another one. Nothing was done to help. The soundproofing was terrible, the information was misleading, and the service was awful. The prices make no sense for what you get. They showed no respect, responsibility, or interest in fixing the problem. There are better options in Sogamoso; this place ruined our weekend.
