Hotel Arawak Upar

The location was the only good part, with a supermarket, restaurants, and plenty of shops nearby. We had a very poor experience and wouldn't recommend it. The room we got through the Booking app wasn't the one we booked. We booked and paid for a triple room with three twin beds. There are four of us, me, my wife, and our two kids, but they put us in a room with a single bed and a king bed. That was a downgrade, and we didn't get the difference back. When we showed the Booking details in the app, the front desk staff weren't helpful and insisted that, to them, a twin meant a single bed. They also kept saying one of the kids was “free of charge,” even though that wasn't the issue for us. The sheets had dirty spots, the bathroom wasn't clean, and we found cockroaches in it. The AC didn't cool the room at all. We reported it to the hotel staff, but they did nothing. Breakfast came in tiny portions. When the kids asked for cereal, staff told us they couldn't have any. The person serving food onto our plates had no protective gear, no face mask, hair net, or plastic gloves. The attention and facilities were very poor.
