Hotel & Spa Getsemaní

The staff were super friendly, and it’s a good place to stay. Getting to the town square and main tourist spots takes a bit of walking, though it’s manageable. For a couple of days, the shower’s hot water was intermittent.

The courtyard was lovely, with flowers and plants everywhere, and the hotel is just steps from the main square. We had a great stay: comfortable beds, good wifi, a fresh and delicious included breakfast, and a friendly, accommodating front desk team. There’s also an on-site spa where we had a couples massage. We stayed in three kinds of rooms, and two had a jacuzzi and balcony.

The traffic noise was the big drawback. The hotel is right by the busy intersection of Calle 8 and Carrera 12, and engines and horns from trucks, motorcycles, and cars carried on through the night, early morning, and day. Other hotels along that road probably have the same issue, though I can’t speak from experience. Next time I’ll look for a similar place a few blocks away, where it may be quieter at night. I need peace and quiet when I’m back in my room getting ready for bed. The hotel itself is beautiful, with great service and lovely, accommodating employees. There are lots of amenities, including a great pool, sauna, steam room, and hot tub. Restaurants, shops, and ATMs are within easy walking distance. Breakfast at the cafe by check-in was delicious, with fresh fruit, cheese, bread, scrambled eggs, and a hot drink. I’d recommend the hotel in general, and would rate the experience 3.5 stars if I could.

Our first stay in a Hotel Boutique, and Getsemaní went beyond what we expected. The facilities and amenities are great, the massages are worth it, and any couples package you book is a fantastic deal. Treat yourself and your partner to a weekend in Getsemaní. You’ll thank me later!
