If you create content, it’s a great place for taking pictures. The museum was interesting, with more emphasis on history than the kinds of objects you’d expect in a regular museum. The décor is incredibly well done, and the managers were exceptional at explaining the concept and its significance. Service otherwise was decent. There’s a good amount of chocolate in the souvenir shop, though it’s expensive for what you get. The menu is extensive, and the cocktails have more intriguing flavors than the chocolate beer, which wasn’t a surprise. I think Milojas is the traditional one, and it was my favorite. I tried one with Greek yogurt and didn’t like it. They’re experimenting with flavors, and all that experimentation can be overwhelming. In my opinion, the traditional milhojas are better.

The museum’s themed décor and overall look were the best parts of the visit. The place is visually appealing, but the experience itself was disappointing. The same song played on repeat until it became distracting and uncomfortable, and it felt like they might be trying to avoid music licensing fees. Service came across as unwelcoming, and it’s awkward when customers are asked or nudged to offer payment or tips. The food and drinks were overpriced for their average quality. A drink at around 20,000 COP could be reasonable if it matched the price, but it didn’t. The decoration deserves credit, though the value, service, and overall experience need significant improvement. Right now, it looks better than it delivers.

There’s a shop selling artisanal products that would work well as gifts or souvenirs, along with a delightful range of chocolates, desserts, and drinks. The chocolate beer stood out as an original and unique option. The Chocolate Museum in Villa de Leyva has a charming, distinctive feel, and its cozy atmosphere and themed décor made the visit lovely. A nice place to enjoy with a partner, friends, or family, with history, flavor, and a bit of magic together.

The smell of chocolate is incredible, and there’s a good selection. It’s a very pretty store. You can visit the museum area if you’ve bought something at the front. L

The chocolate concept is interesting, but having it in every dish gets tiring, since the flavors don’t have enough variety. Service was very basic: staff took our order and answered when called, but showed little interest in checking on the tables or following up. We also had long waits, even when the place was empty, which made the experience more disappointing. That kind of delay might be understandable on busy days, but it happened outside of those too.
