Reserva de Piedemonte

The food was great, and we loved the amazing pool. It’s gorgeous, surrounded by nature, and you feel as if you’re sleeping among the monkeys, capibaras, and colorful birds. We really enjoyed our stay :)

The nature here is remarkable, especially so close to Villavicencio, just 15 minutes away. We saw capybaras, scarlet ibises, caimans, macaws, and anteaters. The owners clearly care about protecting all this wildlife and plant life. Birds sing so loudly in the morning that the hotel leaves earplugs on the nightstands. We celebrated our wedding with over 100 guests at the Piedemonte Reserve in March 2026, and it was a huge success. From our first conversation with the manager through the farewell the day after the ceremony, the reservations team was exceptionally warm. They explained service prices clearly, which made planning much easier, and their flexibility helped us sort out plenty of logistics from Europe. The hotel staff and vendors worked together very well. The reserve is spacious, with two malocas and guest rooms, as well as wide grounds. It can take up to 15 minutes to walk from reception to the rooms, though a golf cart service shortens the trip. The rooms are traditional structures with palm-thatched roofs, but include air conditioning, comfortable beds, roomy showers, modern televisions, and Wi-Fi. Everything was impeccably clean.

The pool was a highlight, and the whole day at Reserva Pidemonte was fantastic. I was there from 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The place is well cared for, with a thoughtful connection between the visitor areas and the local plants and wildlife. The staff were great, especially the young man driving the golf cart, who was consistently helpful and kind. The restaurant food looked lovely and tasted just as good. My favorites were the yellow fish stew, chicharrones, meat empanadas, and peach panna cotta. Thanks to the Reserva Pidemonte team for such a good day. I’d gladly come back to stay overnight and see the hotel facilities and service.

The wildlife and morning birdsong were a lovely part of the stay. We spotted the famous capybaras, caimans, and several kinds of birds, with views across the plains. The property is large, but there’s a shuttle to take you to and from the hostel, or you can walk. The rooms were incredibly comfortable, the food was delicious, and the pool was great. It’s a beautiful hotel that seems suitable for children, families, couples, really anyone. I’d definitely return.
