Teka Hotel Villavicencio

The food was good, but I wouldn’t return. We spent New Year’s with family there, and there were problems from the start: the TV wouldn’t even turn on, the toilet was clogged before we’d used it, and the shower drain valve was blocked, so the shower didn’t work. We asked for pool towels starting on the first day. They said their washing machine was broken, and no towels ever came. Prices were high for the quality of the service and products, and the amount quoted during booking was later changed to an exorbitant one. The place is beautiful, but these issues drag down its reputation and keep it from being used to its potential. The bar and reception staff gave poor service, and the quality was poor too.

The room wasn’t ready when we arrived at 6 p.m. on December 31st, even though check-in started at 3 p.m., and there was no mattress on the bed. When we told manager Sandra, she questioned whether we’d paid, although we’d paid in advance for the stay and for New Year’s Eve dinner at the hotel. She then told us we could leave if we were dissatisfied, which was insensitive and unrealistic after a long trip on December 31st, when there was nowhere else to stay. It’s a shame because the hotel has plenty going for it: everything was clean and well kept, housekeeping was very friendly, and breakfast was delicious. Management needs to improve its approach.

It’s a peaceful, pleasant hotel in Villavicencio, close to everything. The surroundings feel healthy and natural, and the service I received was excellent.

Angela is such a sweetheart, and Mauro and the gentleman who’s always in the restaurant were wonderful too, though we can’t remember his name. Everyone was so respectful, attentive, helpful, and accommodating. I visited with my family this weekend and was incredibly happy with the experience. Three people, each with their own families, are already planning to go soon. They were impressed by the photos, but also by the service. I’d absolutely visit again. Thank you so much!
