Hotel Villa Deicer

The people running the hotel were very friendly. Everything was immaculately clean, and the small pool was a nice escape from the heat.

I only stayed one night, and it was a terrible experience. The rooms had no ventilation, so I asked them to hang my swimsuits up to dry. When I went to collect them, one of the items that had been hung up was missing. I lost a very expensive swimsuit that’s especially hard to find. They never recovered my belongings or gave me any explanation for the loss. The conditions in the rooms were uncomfortable, and I had to leave my belongings behind. This is not the kind of behavior you expect from a place to stay, and I don’t recommend it. Don’t go or stay here. The room was comfortable and had air conditioning, and the price was reasonable. It’s a basic place, but close to the town center. I’d stay here again if I come back to Tatacoa.

I spent four nights here, and the pool was a lovely place to cool off in the warm weather. The hotel is right in the village center, across from Café Maël, and the manager was kind, efficient, and helpful. She clearly puts a lot of effort into keeping things clean. Most rooms have their own bathroom; the smallest, cheaper room has one outside instead. The main downside was that the house rules didn’t seem strict enough. One evening, four rowdy guests kept the pool occupied with beer and loud music, and behaved disrespectfully toward other guests.
