Hostel Boutique Musa Paradisiaca

The last night was awful: I found 5 bedbugs crawling all over me in bed. The stay had been nice and the staff are amazing, but none of that makes dealing with bedbugs worthwhile. I wouldn’t recommend staying until they post pictures showing all the rooms have been cleaned.

The management team was very welcoming, and our private double room was clean and good for the price. It sits right beside the shared outdoor kitchen area, though, with almost no sound barrier. We heard music there around the clock and people coming and going. On several nights, groups, whose connection to the hostel I couldn’t tell, talked, laughed, yelled, and played music until sometime between 11pm-3am. It disrupted my stay a lot. In my experience, hostels usually have quiet hours for staff and guests, and this one would benefit from them.

We booked 2 nights but left the next day. The room smelled bad, the bar shut at 6pm, the wifi barely worked, the bed curtains kept falling down, and when we asked for towels we got just 1. People sharing the room came and went, talking loudly through the night and morning as if nobody else was there. Reception brushed off our concerns. It was disappointing and, honestly, pretty boring, and the location wasn’t ideal either. I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re looking for a more social vibe.

We had an amazing dinner cooked by Rafa, with a great mix of Colombian specialities. It was one of our best meals in Colombia. Musa Paradisiaca is quiet and clearly well cared for, and the staff were friendly and attentive, doing their best to make us feel welcome. The pool area was lovely for relaxing in the sun.
