Courtyard by Marriott San Jose Airport Alajuela

The breakfast is ELITE, with an omelet station, fruit, juice, and great friendly service. It's not the usual American courtyard breakfast. The hotel itself is clean, nice, and seems fairly new, but the service is what stood out. I made a dumb booking mistake and reserved for one person instead of the FOUR we'd be, then arrived after driving 4.5 hrs. They didn't care about the error, just went straight into solving it and had everything set up perfectly in about five minutes. Don't spend more for a nicer place before your flight. This is the nicer place at a better price. Outstanding service.

We stayed here on the way to Corcovado, and the breakfast was great. We're Marriott platinum members, and the staff clearly appreciate loyal Marriott customers. Everyone was kind and helpful. Later, our US flight was cancelled and we faced a very long delay. Although the hotel was at full capacity, they kindly arranged for us to come back. I especially want to recognize Dayana Picado at the front desk. We arrived after 1:00 am, and she arranged for the shuttle to pick us up. On our return, she looked after us again so we could rest before our flight to the US. We're very grateful to Dayana and all the wonderful staff. It's a convenient place to stay by the airport, with excellent service.

It's great to have food and drinks available after a late flight, since the restaurant stays open late. The Courtyard by Marriott San Jose Airport Alajuela is consistently dependable, with clean, comfortable rooms, friendly service, and a reliable five-minute shuttle to and from the airport.

After more than 10 days in Costa Rica, we stayed one night on our way back and arrived exhausted from driving all day. The staff were fantastic, and the hotel was very safe, with key cards required for the elevator, luggage carts, and covered drop-off area. The airport shuttle was on time and efficient. Everything was super clean, and the food was great. Great hotel, staff, and restaurant!
