The location is great, across from the cathedral and close to the central park, and the room was inexpensive at $50. Everything was very clean, and the staff were friendly. It was noisy, though, with road sounds and loud music from the kitchen downstairs. The hot water only worked sometimes. I stayed two nights and found it okay. Hot water issues are common in hotels around here, and I'd stay again for a cheap one-night stay.

It's in a great location, with a nice ceviche restaurant open Tuesday through Saturday and a nice bed. They also offer free parking overnight until 7 AM. I have no complaints. It's a cheap hotel, so you can't expect a five-star facility when the owner is keeping operating costs low to offer a good deal and make it a win-win. A good choice if you're trying to save money on vacation or an international startup.

The room showed clear water damage and had a strong mildew smell. There seemed to be mold or other black marks on the walls, and the TV had a cigarette burn on top. The shower's soap dish was partly detached and hanging vertically. The location in Alajuela is good, though.

The staff were hospitable, helpful, and considerate, and the freshly made breakfast was great. They were renovating during our stay. I'll probably use this place for airport nights from now on.

Dirty, smelly, and loud. The continental breakfast was bad too. This was the worst place I've ever stayed, and I won't come back, no matter what. It was horrible.
