Makara Mono Suite / 2nd Floor

We couldn’t get in touch with anyone at makara despite trying several times, which was especially worrying during a water outage that lasted one and a half days. The WhatsApp number they gave us belonged to a former employee, the listed phone number didn’t work, and nobody replied to our emails. Another guest told us they’d had the same communication problem and didn’t even have bed sheets. The jacuzzi also wasn’t working properly and had no hot water, and many light bulbs were out. All of this really took away from the stay we’d expected.

Our host was the nicest person we’ve met here so far and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable. The place is huge and remarkable, almost more like a condo than a hotel. It’s absolutely beautiful, with a night guard and a very secluded beach just a five minute walk away. Highly recommend it.

The only downside for us was the lack of restaurants within walking distance, since we didn’t have a car. Otherwise, the penthouse was really special and comfortable, with several balconies looking out at the surrounding trees and a bedroom view of the mountains. The outdoor jacuzzi was amazing. From there, we watched butterflies, hummingbirds, and even a sloth slowly moving through the trees in front of the balcony. An empty beach was only a five minute walk away.

A bright, modern private room with a huge, elegant bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. The balcony is spacious, with both sunny and shaded spots. There’s no sea view, though the sea is nearby. The management are friendly, and it’s worth the price.
