Cabinas Cascada Rio Celeste

The owners made our stay special. They live on site, were kind and generous with their time, and patient with us as non-Spanish speakers. They picked us up at the bus stop, showed us local sloths, and helped arrange a night tour, drove us there, and joined us. The tour was incredible: we saw a tapir, a kinkajou, and lots of frogs. The gardens behind the house were a bird haven, and on our last day I finally saw a snowcap hummingbird. There was a sloth in the garden trees too. We appreciated having Metamorphosis restaurant next door for evening meals as vegetarians and vegans. We chose this place because it was walking distance from Tenorio National Park, but it turned out to be much more. The room had a hot shower, fridge, and plenty of useful storage, shelves, and hooks. We loved everything about our stay. Thank you for having us!

The cabins were clean and well kept, very close to the National Park entrance, so it was easy to walk there. There are a few eateries and fruit stalls nearby for picking up local food. We were very happy with our choice. The host was helpful, answered our questions and took care of our needs, and was flexible with the accommodation. I highly recommend it :)

This locally owned place has just three rooms and is closest to Celeste Waterfall and the lagoon. The rooms are basic, with no air conditioning, but they do have small fridges. I’d recommend it for a short stay.

The host can arrange a farming tour that I HIGHLY recommend. Alex and his family run a small farm down the street where they make coffee and chocolate. You can try sugarcane and other crops, see a small waterfall and jungle animals, and we also had dinner at his family’s restaurant. Those are the experiences I travel for! Our room was clean, cute, and colorful, with warm water and a nice patio. The staff were super friendly, and it was cozy and within walking distance of the park entrance. We couldn’t get into the park on arrival day because of the pouring rain, so we went first thing the next day. Breakfast was delicious gallo pinto with coffee, avocado, and all the fixings. There were a few cute dogs on the property too.
