The trails run down to the Rio Celeste and give you a taste of deep jungle. The resort is clean throughout, with a modern, upscale touch alongside its rustic Costa Rican feel. The food is good and the coffee shop is great. Staff were polite, warm, and welcoming the whole time, and went above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable. Highly recommend, and we'll definitely return.

Having private access to the Rio Celeste was the main reason I chose this place. My husband and I spent an hour at the river without anyone else around. I can see myself returning to Hideaway for the river, pool, and spa. The gardens, open-air lobby, individual cabins, and especially the outdoor shower gave me Four Seasons Hotel vibes without the Four Seasons Hotel price. The jacuzzis and pool were nice too. The new spa was a bonus. My muscles were sore from our hike, so I booked a massage and found they also had a sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi. These are coed, so a swimsuit is recommended. Hardly anyone was using them when I was there. We were due to leave after breakfast the next day, but I persuaded my husband to book a massage with me so we could enjoy the jacuzzi overlooking the jungle. The noon checkout helped. Sharon, the spa receptionist, was friendly and accommodating, Charlotte, my reflexologist, was amazing, and all the staff were nice. Our room's dehumidifier was useful for drying clothes. Breakfast had a great buffet plus a few a la carte choices. At Mandarina, the dinner appetizers were awesome. The sushi rice wasn't great, though that may be because we go to Japan every year and have been spoiled by the rice there. I'd recommend this hotel and nearby Tenorio National Park to friends. Both are worth at least a couple of nights.

The rooms were spacious, clean, and comfortable, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere felt calm and luxurious without being pretentious. The hotel is beautiful, peaceful, surrounded by nature, and meticulously maintained. What stayed with us most was the staff. Every interaction felt kind and sincere, and they went above and beyond to make us comfortable. This was easily our best stay in Costa Rica. We'd return in a heartbeat and recommend it to anyone visiting. Book a massage! A true gem.

We don't often write reviews, but this stay deserved one. The beautiful, lush grounds were full of wildlife, with lots of visitors around breakfast. The dining was top notch and happily accommodated our wish for authentic CR food. Sharon greeted us with grace and a smile, and Jose and his team made dinner unforgettable. Nelson, the F& B manager, stopped by each night for a chat. Our wait staff, Paulo, Jennifer, Ismail, Alex, Josua and Catherine, were always on point and made us feel special. I'm sure I'm forgetting someone. Thank you all for such a positive, loving experience. The Pura Vida vibe is alive and well at Hideaway. Our busy lives had sent us looking for refuge in the rio Celeste rainforest region, and the resort delivered. Before we arrived, reception was prompt and extremely accommodating. Tanya, Rachel and the whole reception crew were amazing. At arrival, everything was handled with happiness and joy, pura vida. We rarely return to the same resort, but this was different. We will be back for sure.

Dinner was the standout: some of the best ceviche I’ve ever had, followed by a mouthwatering tuna steak and a perfect Cab. I spent two wonderful nights here. The staff were amazing across the board, from check-in and the wait staff to maintenance. My room was comfortable and had everything I needed, and breakfast was plentiful, fresh, and delicious. Hiking the National Park was another highlight.
