The night tour through the gardens was a highlight, with tree frogs and birds to spot. The grounds are beautiful, peaceful, and private, and the cabins are adorable, simple, and very clean. You can feel the care and pride in how they were made. Staying here felt like being welcomed onto a family’s land, not checking into a commercial hotel. The Costa Rican family who run Jardín Entre Montañas in Bijagua were incredibly warm. Their son speaks some English and was very helpful, and everyone made us feel at home. Breakfast was excellent and served early, from 7-8 AM, handy for Rio Celeste, waterfalls, and nearby sloth tours. The place is a few minutes outside town, so it’s quiet and serene. One of our most memorable stays in Costa Rica, highly recommend for a heartfelt, authentic experience.

We were welcomed by the whole family when we arrived at Jardin Entre Montanas, and our secluded little cabin had everything we needed. The gardens are stunning. Luzbeth made delicious breakfasts with fruit from the property and food from local farmers, while Alejandro made sure we were well looked after. Alfredo’s nightly garden tours were so much fun, and his enthusiasm brought the animal oasis to life. He also played guitar for us. The place is just a couple of minutes from the town center. We ate at Yeye's down the road and loved it. I highly recommend staying here, and if you can, spend more than one night getting to know this wonderful family.

Cute place and such a sweet family. They do a garden tour to see frogs 🐸, and breakfast is between 7-8am. Bring cash. It smells a bit of mildew, probably because it rains so much, though most places I’ve stayed in CR have been like that. I wouldn’t recommend checking in late at night since it’s a family home and that could disturb them.

We had breakfast in the garden, a great way to start the day, and Alberto showed us around it at night. There were all kinds of birds and frogs. This family-run place was a lovely start to our Costa Rica trip. The cabin had a kitchenette and nice outdoor spots to sit or work. It’s also a short drive from the national park.

The owner took us on a night hike and spotted frogs, spiders, birds, and moths. It was so cool, and breakfast the next morning was great too. Family-run rustic cabins sit on gorgeous grounds, a lovely way to begin our visit to Costa Rica.
